Fiction

I am an MFA candidate in fiction at the University of Southern Maine’s Stonecoast program. In 2016 I authored The King of the Birds, illustrated by Natalie Nelson and published by Groundwood Books. In 2022, my novel, The Gap Year, was selected for mentorship through Rogue Mentors by the author Sophie Wan.

The King of the Birds was named an Okra Pick by the Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance and a Book All Young Georgians Should Read by the Georgia Center for the Book. Publisher’s Weekly called it “a droll, low-key debut,” and Kirkus said, “Readers with a taste for the quirky will flock to this tale.”
We also got a sweet write-up in The Marginalian (formerly Brain Pickings).
